You’ve been hunkering down for months now that you’re already feeling fatigued and bored. But you also don’t want to go outside yet. What other things can you do?
Why don’t you try all of these?
1. Travel the World Anytime
Do you love to travel and miss it a lot? While airports seem to be more open to passengers, flying might still make you feel frightened.
Don’t worry, you can already travel in a snap, thanks to websites like Earth Cam. Here, you’ll find a collection of live feeds from around the world. From Ireland to New York, take your pick.
You can also visit hundreds of tourist attractions that are now live streaming or putting up virtual tours. These include San Diego Zoo, Smithsonian National Zoo, Sistine Chapel, and Machu Picchu.
2. Learn to Be Like Ed Sheeran
Or probably Taylor Swift – or any artist you want to be. If you love to pluck the chords, you can already enroll in guitar lessons in Draper, Utah, although you need not be in the state to learn.
Music schools such as this one now offer remote teaching. For a few hours a week, a professional music teacher will meet you virtually and give you at least the basics so you can start playing.
At the end of the program, you can even join a recital. This is the best time to showcase how much you’ve learned and meet new friends.
3. Enjoy the Disney Rides
It’s summer, and it can seem a bummer you’re not going anywhere, especially any of the Disney parks. Here’s a consolation, though. Why don’t you try their virtual rides?
You can fly high in the Peter Pan ride or be Elsa for the day. You can go safe with Alice in Wonderland or enjoy a thrill in the Indiana Jones maze.
These are not official virtual tours or rides, but the videos are high-quality with some in HD or 4K. Plus, if you watch this with your surround-sound system, it’s the closest thing you’ll ever get to being at the happiest place on earth.
4. Peek into Other People’s Windows
Do you ever wonder what happens in other people’s backyards? Would you like a glimpse of their everyday lives? There’s a site for that called Window Swap.
Window Swap contains dozens of clips of what goes beyond others’ windows. By swiping or clicking left, you can travel the world and see a part of Rwanda, Costa Rica, or even Germany.
If you think you have an amazing view too, you can submit yours. You just need to record about 10 minutes of the view and upload it on the website.
5. Talk to a Scientist
If you’re looking for someone to talk to right now, you might as well make the conversation worthwhile. One option is to Skype a Scientist.
It’s an educational program that connects you, your kids, or even your entire family with an expert of your choice. You can ask the one thing keeping you up all night or talk about anything about the topic you’re interested in.
Thanks to these, you can do more than Netflix and chill. Hopefully, they will make you feel you’re not really missing a lot by staying at home.
