Many families are feeling the pinch during the current coronavirus pandemic and the prospect of having a fun summer holiday may seem like it’s slipping away. Fortunately, parents can still plan excitement and fun with their children without spending a lot of money and we are going to share some ways that can help you do just that. Let’s take a look:
Here are things that parents can do:
Paint- with acrylic paints, brushes and paper, children can make paintings of trees, flowers, leaves and other outdoor objects. Children may also try to copy famous paintings of natural scenery.
Write An Adventure Story- if your child loves reading Harry Potter or Percy Jackson & The Olympians, there’s no better way to nurture their imagination than by having them create their own adventure story. Parents can also join the activity by making their own adventure stories. It could be a short story or a longer story with multiple parts. This might be the start of wonderful adventures and children can go deeper into their imagination. It’s a great way to persuade children to read more books and become more imaginative.
Start A Treasure Hunt- children love finding hidden treasure by solving clues. Treasures don’t have to be expensive, they could be sweets and chocolates that children love to eat. Treasure hunts can be played outdoors and indoors. This is a great way to keep children occupied at home
Learn New Recipes- parents can teach their children new recipes for daily meals using regular ingredients. Because cooking involves the use of sharp objects and heat, this activity can be risky. Close supervision is important. Children may observe the cooking process and perform easy, safe tasks. Children can have cooking competitions to see who can bake the best cake or pizza. They will enjoy being more creative in the kitchen. Parents may encourage children to be more creative by incorporating unusual ingredients. Children can try creating sweet pizzas with chocolate spread and crushed peanuts.
Backyard Camping- it’s inexpensive and fun to camp in your own backyard. You can make a fire to cook some camp food and to keep everyone warm at night.
